Seller Registration

This guide walks you through the complete seller registration process on Shopping Scene. You can sign up using either your email address or phone number.

Prerequisites

A valid email address or phone number
A shop name and business address
A password (minimum 6 characters)

Registration Flow Overview

Step 1: Choose Registration Method

On the registration screen, you have two options:

Option A: Register with Email

Enter your email address.
The system checks if this email is already registered.
If valid, a 6-digit verification code is sent to your email inbox.

Option B: Register with Phone

Select your country code (e.g., +92 for Pakistan).
Enter your phone number (digits only).
The system checks if this phone number is already registered.
If valid, a 6-digit OTP is sent via SMS.

Step 2: Verify Your Email or Phone

Check your email inbox or SMS messages for the 6-digit verification code.
Enter the code in the verification screen.
The code is valid for 5 minutes. After expiry, you can request a new code.

Tip: If you don't receive the code, check your spam folder (for email) or ensure your phone has network signal (for SMS).

Step 3: Complete the Registration Form

Once verified, you'll be taken to the registration form. Fill in the following:

Field	Required	Description
Full Name	✅	Your personal or business name
Password	✅	Minimum 6 characters
Shop Name	✅	The name of your store (shown publicly)
Business Address	✅	Your shop's physical address
Agent Code	❌	If you were referred by a sales agent, enter their code
Category	❌	Select your primary product category

Step 4: Account Created

After submitting the form:

Your seller account is created.
A shop is created with your provided shop name.
Depending on admin settings:
- Auto-Approval ON: You can log in immediately and start selling.
- Auto-Approval OFF: Your account enters a pending approval state. You'll receive a notification once the admin approves your registration.

Agent Code (Optional)

If a Shopping Scene sales agent referred you:

Enter their agent code during registration (e.g., john_42 or agent's email/phone).
The agent will be linked to your shop for commission tracking.
This is completely optional and does not affect your registration.

Troubleshooting

Issue	Solution
"Email already exists"	This email is already registered. Try logging in instead.
"Phone number already exists"	This number is registered. Try logging in with OTP.
Verification code not received (email)	Check spam/junk folder. Wait 2 minutes and resend.
Verification code not received (SMS)	Ensure correct country code. Wait 2 minutes and resend.
"Registration token expired"	Request a new verification code and start again.
